The Art Guide Celebrates its Third Edition

Behind the scenes at the official launch during Gallery Weekend Berlin

On Sunday 3rd May, BMW and Independent Collectors officially launched the third edition of the brand new BMW Art Guide by Independent Collectors. Taking place on the final day of Gallery Weekend 2015, with the buzz of art humming through the city of Berlin, BMW and IC hosted a day that was packed full of collecting and culture in celebration of the new publication.

The day began with guided tours at the Sør Rusche Sammlung and the Sammlung Springmeier, lead by Thomas Rusche and Giovanni Springmeier themselves, enabling an exclusive look into the home of a collector.

Upon finishing the tour, guests made their way to Soho House Berlin where a panel discussion featuring Karen Boros (Sammlung Boros), Christian Kaspar Schwarm (founder of Independent Collectors and also Sammlung Christian Kaspar Schwarm) and Editor in Chief of the Art Guide Sylvia Dominique Volz, discussed the Art Guide and the passion of collecting, moderated by BMW's Head of Cultural Engagement Thomas Girst.

Once the talk had come to a close the event moved outside where guests could been seen soaking up the sun rays on the Soho House terrace whilst flicking through their personal copy of the Art Guide and meeting fellow collectors.

The third edition of the BMW Art Guide by Independent Collectors hosts 236 publicly accessible private collections in 39 countries. You can buy a copy of the guide directly via Hatje Cantz or Amazon.
