The Art Guide Celebrates its Fourth Edition

Behind the scenes at the official launch on the eve of Frieze London

On Tuesday 4th October 2016, the art world elite gathered at the Shoreditch House in East London to celebrate the launch of the fourth edition of the BMW Art Guide by Independent Collectors. Taking place on the eve of Frieze London, BMW co-hosted with Soho House an evening that included an art talk with Beth Greenacre (curator of the David Bowie Collection), David Roberts (founder of the David Roberts Arts Foundation) and moderated by Anna Somers Cocks (CEO of The Art Newspaper).

The talk surrounded all things collecting, and provided a rare glimpse into the mind of a collector as well as offering insight into how a private collection is curated, organized and ultimately brought together. Once the talk had come to a close, guests moved upstairs to the roof terrace of the Shoreditch House, where they could be found dancing, drinking and celebrating the Art Guide until well into the night.

The fourth edition of the BMW Art Guide by Independent Collectors showcases 256 collections in 43 countries and 180 cities – including some that are showcasing their collection for the very first time. You can buy a copy of the guide directly via Hatje Cantz and Amazon or download the Ebook.
