Fresh off the Press - The Fourth Edition
A first look at the fourth edition of the BMW Art Guide by Independent Collectors
We are excited to announce that the fourth edition of the BMW Art Guide by Independent Collectors is here! Countless hours of research, numerous leading art journalists, and a whole lot of dedication have all gone into making this edition, which now features 256 private yet publicly accessible collections from around the world, our biggest and most detailed yet.
Once again, we’ve scoured the globe to find new collections where art is presented in the most diverse and interesting settings. We’ve also made sure to update the entries from the past three editions, ensuring that you have the most up-to-date information on the world’s best collections. The collections are comprised solely of sites where privately owned art has been opened up and made accessible to the public, spanning over 180 cities in some 43 countries. In this fourth edition, the Art Guide has once again expanded its horizons by adding new countries such as Romania, Lebanon, Serbia and South Korea.
The new design for the fourth edition features a minimalist layout and a vivid electric blue highlight – allowing the Art Guide and its content to speak for itself. The Art Guide was developed in 2012 as a long term cooperation between BMW and Independent Collectors. Inspired by a common passion for contemporary art, a standard reference on collecting was born. Featuring texts by distinguished authors, the guide offers a wealth of information on the subject and stands for a new kind of cultural-entrepreneurial partnership.
The BMW Art Guide by Independent Collectors will be available from the middle of October 2016 as a hardcopy and eBook, so pick up your copy from Hatje Cantz or Amazon and start finding your favorite collections.
