New addition to the Shorties

We have steadily been posting Shorties from the first volume of the BMW Art Guide by Independent Collectors but today let’s talk about the Shorties in the upcoming edition of the Art Guide.

The Shorties are again printed on slightly different paper to truly distinguish them from the featured collections. Like last time, they will cover a variety of themes concerning collecting and collectors. But new are the seven Shorties focused on metropolises of art. The chosen cities, Berlin, Buenos Aires, Paris, London, New York, Beijing and Istanbul, underline the global nature of the guide, as they are located on four different continents.

These chosen behemoths each exemplify a different cultural realm. Take for instance, Berlin, the busy underdog, which a few years ago might have consisted of 6,000 artists and six collectors, but which has steadily sharpened its profile. Or London, the traditional powerhouse and then there is Beijing, the fast growing art child formed in the eighties.

The peculiarities of each capital will be discussed and we will give you an overview of where to find the leading art institutions, galleries and bookstores focused on contemporary art. Also mentioned will be the art fairs worth visiting and when they are taking place. This information together with the individual entries of the most outstanding publicly accessible private collections will give you a comprehensive overview of the cultural landscape of each town.

This way, you will be fully prepared for your next city trip whether you are visiting Buenos Aires or Paris, New York or Istanbul.
