Established in 2000 by entrepreneur Alexander Tutsek and his wife Eva-Maria Fahrner-Tutsek, the foundation is committed to support and showing the unique and the overlooked. It sees its generous funding in the fields of contemporary art and the natural sciences as socially relevant activity, with the goal of successful human coexistence. The internationally oriented collection and exhibition space focus on contemporary photography, as well as contemporary sculpture and installation that makes use of glass in particular.

In a historically listed Art Nouveau villa in Schwabing–the foundation’s primary location–and in additional exhibition spaces at the BlackBox which has newly opened in November 2021, rotating exhibitions provide insight into the diverse applications of glass, presenting sculptures and installations in dialogue with photographic new discoveries.
