The collection of a Cologne family that has been involved in the Arts for generations, has been on display in the 370m2 BRAUNSFELDER exhibition space in the trendy district Cologne-Ehrenfeld since 2017. Each year, up to five exhibitions of contemporary art with a focus on painting and sculpture are shown. Here, works from the collection are combined with loans. Changing international curators put together the solo or group exhibitions and decide on the selection of internal and external works. All exhibitions are published in detail in the form of a catalog and on the website. In addition to the exhibition activities, BRAUNSFELDER is home to an extensive library of art books, exhibition catalogs and jazz literature for public use. With the aim of inspiring a growing audience for contemporary art, all exhibitions are open to the public and admission is free. Since its founding, BRAUNSFELDER has established itself as an inspiring place for exchange and learning, thus making an important contribution to Cologne as a center for art and culture.
